Rapper Gilli, whose real name is Kian Rosenberg Larsson, will not be protected by a name ban during his upcoming tax evasion trial. The Eastern High Court has upheld the decision of the Court in Glostrup, rejecting Gilli’s appeal for anonymity.
The case, scheduled to be heard on September 1st in the Court in Glostrup, involves allegations that Gilli evaded approximately 3.3 million kroner in taxes. The charges stem from accusations of providing incorrect or misleading information to the Danish tax authority (Skat) between 2015 and 2018.
Gilli and his lawyer appealed the lower court’s initial refusal to grant a name ban, but the Eastern High Court has now affirmed that decision. The Eastern High Court cited the nature and severity of the case as the reason for denying the name ban.
Gilli maintains his innocence, according to his lawyer, Kaspar Bastian Lehmann, who stated this during the initial court hearing regarding the name ban.
