Prince Joachim has expressed gratitude for Denmark’s deployed personnel in a video released by the Armed Forces for Flag Day, celebrated on September 5th. The annual event honors those who have served on behalf of Denmark.

In the video, Prince Joachim, currently a defense industry attaché at the Danish Embassy in the USA, emphasizes that the flag symbolizes community and deep respect for those who have worn the Dannebrog on their uniforms. He and his family reside in Washington D.C. Prior to this role, he served as a defense attaché at the Danish Embassy in Paris.

Flag Day, officially observed since 2009, marks its 17th anniversary this year. The day serves to recognize and honor individuals who are currently serving or have served Denmark, while also commemorating those who have lost their lives in service.

Prince Joachim’s message highlights the Dannebrog as a reminder of the collective will to stand together.
