East Jutland Police issued 370 fines to road users, primarily cyclists, for traffic violations during a three-day operation in Aarhus. Police Commissioner Amrik Chadha expressed concern over the large number of cyclists riding carelessly and disregarding traffic rules.

The operation, conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, targeted specific locations in Aarhus. While not a large-scale effort, the operation resulted in fines for 351 individuals.

A significant portion of the fines, 267 in total, were issued to cyclists for riding across pedestrian crossings. Other offenses observed by officers included running red lights, riding against the flow of traffic, and using mobile phones while cycling.

Commissioner Chadha emphasized that such behavior creates dangerous situations for cyclists and other road users, particularly in a city like Aarhus with heavy traffic.
