Police are currently investigating two locations in Vejen and Brørup as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of a 42-year-old Polish man. The man was discovered deceased in March in the South Jutland village of Københoved.
According to a press release from the South and South Jutland Police, three men have been arrested and charged in connection with the case. The charges include murder and indecent handling of a corpse. The arrested men are 27, 32, and 40 years old respectively.
Deputy Police Inspector Brian Skovrup Christensen stated that dog patrols are currently investigating the area around a lake in northern Brørup. He noted that water search dogs and divers were previously deployed at the site last week. The current search involves patrol dogs and burial dogs examining the area around the lake.
Simultaneously, police are also investigating the crime scene in Vejen with dogs. Københoved, where the victim was found, is located in Vejen Municipality.
The results of Tuesday’s police investigations will be incorporated into the ongoing investigation.
Brian Skovrup Christensen emphasized that the public in the area is safe and there are no reasons for concern. He clarified that there is no suspicion of additional victims in the case. He explained that water search dogs may also indicate objects that have been in contact with deceased individuals, accounting for their use in the search.
Further details about the case are being withheld out of respect for the relatives and to protect the integrity of the investigation.
