Police are investigating a violent robbery that occurred at a watchmaker in Aarhus on Friday, where robbers stole watches worth several million kroner. The investigation has led to the discovery of a white Renault Clio, believed to be the getaway car, found in a parking lot in northern Aarhus.
The car, bearing Swiss license plates, was located after a public appeal for assistance, with citizens contacting the police on Saturday. Authorities are now seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Skejbyvej area, where the car was found near a Lidl supermarket.
The robbery targeted Kejser Aarhus, a watchmaker in Rosensgade that specializes in used Rolex watches. During the crime, the shop owner, Magnus Kejser, and an employee were threatened with a pistol and restrained in a back room. Kejser recounted the experience, stating that he felt the cold metal of the pistol against his throat.
The East Jutland Police have requested assistance from Europol due to the Swiss license plates on the getaway car, indicating a possible international connection. Police Inspector Brian Voss Olsen stated that they are considering various possibilities, including the involvement of both local and international criminals.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine whether the perpetrators used a real firearm or a replica during the robbery.
