Police investigate gang-related shooting in Copenhagen’s Tingbjerg

Copenhagen police are investigating a shooting in Tingbjerg, Copenhagen, on Sunday evening as a gang-related incident. A 32-year-old man was killed, and two other men, aged 21 and 22, were injured but are expected to survive.

Police Inspector Tommy Laursen stated on Monday afternoon that they are operating under a strengthened hypothesis that the shooting is related to gang activity. The police’s belief is based on the location of the shooting, the manner in which it occurred, and the group targeted. However, Laursen added that they are working broadly to avoid excluding any possibilities.

The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting. They are currently searching for a suspect described as being between 170-180 centimeters tall, of average build, and wearing dark clothing. The suspect was also wearing a hoodie with the hood up and possibly a neck gaiter or bandana covering their face.

The police inspector noted that the suspect’s attire was unusual for the temperature on Sunday. The suspect was reportedly riding a green electric ladies’ bicycle with a black battery in the front.
