An 80-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a drowning accident at Hellerup Strand, which occurred on Sunday. North Zealand Police announced the identification on X, attributing it to numerous inquiries and information received from the public.
The incident took place around 2:21 PM near Onsgårdsvej in Hellerup. The man was pulled from the water, resuscitated at the scene, and transported to a hospital. Initially, police were unable to confirm his identity.
Following an outpouring of information from citizens, police successfully identified the man on Wednesday and have contacted his family.
The man remains hospitalized. Police have stated they will not release any information regarding his current condition.
