Oliver Villadsen Returns to Danish Football and Signs with Brøndby

Oliver Villadsen, a 23-year-old right-back, has signed a four-year contract with Brøndby, marking his return to Danish football after a year abroad. The Superliga club announced the acquisition on its website.

Villadsen, previously a prominent player for FC Nordsjælland, brings valuable experience to Brøndby. He spent the last year with FC Nürnberg, where he participated in 28 matches.

Brøndby’s football director, Benjamin Schmedes, highlighted Villadsen’s comprehensive skillset and suitability for the team. Schmedes emphasized Villadsen’s familiarity with the Superliga, describing him as a dynamic and offensive player.

Villadsen himself expressed his enthusiasm about joining Brøndby. He cited the club’s size, fanbase, and positive conversations with Schmedes and coach Frederik Birk as key factors in his decision. He also acknowledged Birk’s coaching abilities and positive character as contributing to his decision to join Brøndby.

Villadsen, considered a promising talent in Danish football with experience in multiple youth national teams, began training with Brøndby on Friday.
