Odense Håndbold secured the Danish championship title after defeating Team Esbjerg in a closely contested final series. The Funen team emerged victorious with a 33-31 win in the decisive third match, reclaiming the throne after a two-season reign by Team Esbjerg.
The intense match saw constant shifts in momentum, with Odense ultimately clinching the gold in the final seconds. Mie Højlund delivered a standout performance for Odense, consistently challenging Esbjerg’s defense.
Esbjerg initially dominated, taking an early 4-1 lead, but Odense remained composed and gradually fought back. Højlund and Helena Elver spearheaded Odense’s offensive efforts, leveling the score at 9-9 after 14 minutes. The lead then alternated between the two teams in a high-intensity battle.
Odense capitalized on penalty throws, with Ragnhild Valle Dahl converting all six attempts in the first half. However, Esbjerg regained control towards the end of the half, leading 19-18 at halftime.
