Odense Håndbold has announced the signing of Czech star Markéta Jerábková from Ikast Håndbold, securing a significant replacement for Helena Elver, who will depart at the end of the season.
Jerábková, a playmaker, has been a key player for Ikast since 2023 after a highly successful period with Norwegian Vipers Kristiansand. During her time with Vipers, she won two Champions League titles and was named the tournament’s most valuable player in 2022.
According to CEO Lasse Honoré, the club is convinced that Jerábková is the right addition to their squad. He emphasized her potential as a top player, witnessed in her performances for both Vipers and Ikast.
Reports indicate that Ikast was unable to meet Jerábková’s salary expectations for the future.
Recently, Jerábková returned to Ikast after a challenging pregnancy during which she experienced the loss of her unborn child.
Jerábková is not the only player making the move from Ikast to Odense, as Ingvild Bakkerud will also be joining the Funen-based team after the current season.
