OB Coach Søren Krogh Fired Shortly After Promotion

Søren Krogh has been dismissed as the coach of OB, just over a week after leading the team to promotion to the Superliga and winning the second-highest football league in the country. The announcement coincided with the unveiling of Alexander Zorniger as the new head coach on Saturday.

Krogh expressed his disappointment but also reflected on his accomplishments during his tenure. “I am of course sad that I will no longer be the coach of OB,” Krogh stated on OB’s website. “I have had a fantastic time as head coach, and I am really happy that I had the opportunity to bring OB back to the Superliga.” He added that he needs time to recover and will then consider his future options, while also wishing OB well for the upcoming season.

Krogh initially served as an assistant coach under Andreas Alm before being given the opportunity to lead the team in the autumn of 2023 following Alm’s dismissal. While initially appointed on a temporary basis, Krogh was later made the permanent head coach.

During his time as head coach, Krogh experienced relegation to the 1st division in his first season, but successfully guided OB to secure promotion the following year. “I am happy with what I have been involved in delivering in the NordicBet Ligaen, and I think we have solved a difficult task in a good way, where we have also brought a lot of young players into the team,” he said.
