Nickolai Lund, 37, has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Viborg FF, securing a three-year contract with the Superliga team. The announcement comes after Lund served as the temporary head coach since June, following Jakob Poulsen’s departure to AGF.
Lund’s promotion follows a period of assessment where he demonstrated his capabilities to the club’s leadership. Sporting director Mads Agesen emphasized Lund’s competence and high expectations for players and staff.
Viborg FF had been searching for a permanent replacement since June, ultimately deciding that Lund was the best fit to lead the team forward. His tenure as temporary head coach allowed the club to observe his coaching style and leadership qualities firsthand.
