Speculation has arisen regarding potential layoffs at Novo Nordisk following the departure of CEO Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen. The discussion centers around the company’s workforce size compared to its competitor Eli Lilly.
Novo Nordisk currently employs 77,000 individuals, significantly more than Eli Lilly, which has approximately 30,000 fewer employees, despite similar sales figures. Last year alone, Novo Nordisk added 13,000 employees.
An anonymous source, formerly in a high-ranking position at Novo Nordisk, suggested the need to streamline the organization. The source stated that layoffs might be unavoidable in order to address organizational bloat.
Novo Nordisk has acknowledged a hiring freeze in certain departments but has not directly commented on the possibility of layoffs.
Additionally, DSV’s CEO, Jens H. Lund, and other prominent Danish business leaders have been included in the latest edition of Blå Bog (Who’s Who), a prestigious biographical dictionary.
