Lawyer Nicolai Dyhr is facing a new complaint filed with the Disciplinary Board for Lawyers, adding to the legal troubles stemming from his involvement in the TV 2 documentary “The Black Swan.” The complaint was filed by lawyer Boris Frederiksen from the Attorney General’s Office, according to Finans.
Frederiksen’s complaint centers on Dyhr’s role as trustee in the company Crey Games. Frederiksen alleges that Dyhr was disqualified from serving as trustee because he had previously provided legal assistance to the company and was therefore listed as a creditor in the bankruptcy estate.
This latest complaint brings the total number of complaints against Nicolai Dyhr to three. The Disciplinary Board for Lawyers is already processing a case from the Danish Bar Association, which seeks to strip Dyhr of his license to practice law.
Dyhr’s troubles began after he was featured in “The Black Swan,” where he was shown to be willing to overlook fraud in a bankruptcy estate where he served as trustee. The documentary revealed Dyhr’s willingness to ignore financial crimes, including an illegal invoice factory, to prevent creditors from receiving their due payments.
The fallout from the documentary has had significant consequences for both Dyhr and his former employer, Horten. Following the airing of the documentary, Horten dismissed or suspended four employees, including a partner, in November 2024. The law firm stated that it was resetting and rethinking its insolvency department in Copenhagen as a result.
Dyhr’s statements in the documentary, where he admitted to turning a blind eye to illegal activities, led to his dismissal from Horten.
While Dyhr disagrees with the criticism in the new case, he has declined to comment further due to confidentiality obligations.
