A 44-year-old woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for the attempted murder of her 16-year-old daughter. The Nykøbing Falster Court jury found her guilty on Friday.

The incident occurred on December 31, 2024, during an argument at midday.

According to the indictment, the mother strangled her daughter with both hands until the girl became limp and unconscious.

The court’s website confirmed the jury’s verdict.

The woman now has two weeks to decide whether to appeal the sentence to the High Court.
