More Reports of Possible Drugging at Ring Riding Festival in Sønderborg

South and Southern Jutland Police are investigating a total of ten reports of possible drugging incidents at the ring riding festival in Sønderborg, after receiving four new reports over the weekend. One of the new reports concerns attempted drugging.

Three women in their 30s have reported feeling ill after consuming drinks at the festival, leading them to suspect they were drugged. A fourth woman reported that she declined a beer offered to her because she suspected it contained drugs.

Police are taking the cases seriously and investigating whether there is a connection between the incidents. According to Henning Marcussen, Deputy Police Inspector, such actions are considered aggravated assault under the penal code.

Samples have been taken from the nine possible victims, and the police are awaiting the results to aid in the investigation. Authorities emphasize the importance of reporting suspected drugging incidents as soon as possible to increase the chances of tracing substances in samples.

The South and Southern Jutland Police urge individuals to exercise caution with their drinks at summer festivals and similar events. People are advised not to leave their drinks unattended and to avoid accepting drinks from unfamiliar individuals.
