Midt- and West Jutland Police Investigate Discovery of Large Sum of Cash at Farm in Jebjerg

Midt- and West Jutland Police are investigating the discovery of “a large sum of cash” found during excavation work at a farm in Jebjerg, north of Skive. The discovery was made on May 7th during excavation work near a windbreak.

Acting police commissioner Nicolaj Riisgaard, head of the investigation, stated that the police hypothesize the money is connected to some form of criminal activity, and the investigation will focus on whether it involves tax-related crimes or other illegal activities.

In addition to the cash, authorities also found “several effects” at the scene, though Riisgaard declined to provide specific details about the amount of money or the nature of the items. While Skive Folkeblad reports the amount to be “several million,” the head of the investigation has not commented on this claim.

The co-owner of the farm, Kristian Boel, confirmed to TV Midtvest that the money consists of Danish banknotes and emphasized it is a substantial amount.

Police are currently examining the found effects for traces such as DNA and fingerprints that may provide clues to the origin of the money. They are also reviewing older case files to determine if the money can be linked to any previous investigations.

Riisgaard described the case as highly unusual, noting the rarity of finding a large sum of money hidden in a windbreak.

Authorities are urging residents of the area to come forward with any information they may have about suspicious activity. Anyone who has noticed something unusual in the vicinity is encouraged to contact the police, as their observations could be valuable in solving the case.
