Mejerigaarden is recalling its “isbjørne” ice cream pops across Denmark due to the discovery of metal fragments in the product. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevarestyrelsen) announced the recall, citing potential health risks associated with consuming the contaminated ice cream.
The affected ice cream pops have been sold nationwide in various stores, including Kvickly, Brugsen, SuperBrugsen, 365 discount, Bilka, Føtex, Menu, Spar, Min Købmand, and Let-køb. Additionally, the product was available through Hjem Is mobile vans operating throughout the country.
According to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, consuming ice cream pops containing metal pieces could pose a health hazard. The agency warns that such consumption could lead to injuries in the mouth, throat, and gastrointestinal system.
