A 48-year-old man shot by police in Northwest Zealand will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on charges of violence against public servants. The incident occurred on Saturday evening near Asnæs, and the hearing is scheduled for Sunday in Roskilde.
The Midt- and Vestsjællands Police were initially dispatched to the area due to concerns that the man intended to harm himself. Upon arrival, a police dog patrol made contact with the man’s vehicle, at which point the man’s car struck the dog patrol.
Subsequently, another police patrol engaged with the man’s car, leading to the shooting. The shooting occurred at approximately 7:30 PM on Saturday.
Following the incident, the man was transported to a hospital to receive medical treatment for his injuries. The preliminary hearing is scheduled to commence at 11:00 AM.
