Man Remanded in Custody in Søborg Murder Case

A 23-year-old man has been remanded in custody for four weeks in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old man in Søborg on May 2nd. The decision was made by the Court in Glostrup on Tuesday during a preliminary hearing.

The man is charged with murder and attempted murder, allegedly committed with several accomplices. He pleads not guilty to the charges.

Three other men, aged 26, 28, and 35, were previously remanded in custody in connection to the case. They also plead not guilty. The victim, a 35-year-old man, was shot in his car on Novembervej in the Mørkhøj area of Søborg.

The charges also include the attempted murder of a 12-year-old girl who was in the passenger seat of the car. Fortunately, she was not injured.

The indictment states that on May 2nd at approximately 5:50 PM, the perpetrators fired six shots from a .38 caliber revolver at the victim’s parked car. The 35-year-old man was struck by three bullets, including one to the head, and later died at Rigshospitalet.

Following the attack, Deputy Police Inspector Charlotte Skovby described the murder as “extremely brutal and cynically executed.”

Police have stated that several perpetrators remain at large.

The 23-year-old’s lawyer has reserved the right to appeal the custody decision to the High Court.

Neither the defense attorney nor the prosecutor offered any further comments.
