A 32-year-old man has been remanded in custody for four weeks after being charged with throwing two Molotov cocktails at Give Elementfabrik in Nørre Snede. The incident occurred on the night leading into Monday, prompting a swift response from Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi.
The prosecution service at Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi announced the imprisonment on X, noting that the man chose not to appeal the court’s decision in Herning. The prompt intervention of authorities ensured the fire was quickly extinguished, preventing any major damage to the factory.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Molotov cocktails, improvised incendiary devices consisting of a bottle filled with flammable liquid, had been thrown at one of the building’s windows. Fortunately, the windows remained intact, mitigating the potential for a more significant blaze.
The 32-year-old suspect, who is from the local area, was subsequently apprehended and is now in custody. The exact connection between the man and the alleged attempted arson remains unclear from the prosecution’s statement. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
