A 57-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of his 54-year-old partner. The incident occurred in Stenvad on Djursland on Wednesday morning, according to the East Jutland Police.
The East Jutland Police reported that the woman was stabbed in the stomach with a kitchen knife. The stabbing is believed to have taken place around 11:11 AM.
The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment. She was reported to be out of mortal danger on Wednesday.
The man appeared in court in Randers for a preliminary hearing. TV2 Østjylland was present at the hearing.
According to Randers Amtsavis, the defense attorney informed the court that she had not yet received the man’s explanation of the incident.
The judge has imposed a name ban on the accused and ordered the preliminary hearing to be held behind closed doors. This prevents access to the man’s potential explanation and the evidence held by the East Jutland Police.
