A 50-year-old man fatally shot his 42-year-old wife in their Allerød home on Wednesday evening before taking his own life. North Zealand Police were alerted to the incident at 10:04 p.m. and responded to the scene on Statenevej.
The police have confirmed that the incident is being treated as a murder-suicide. According to duty officer David Buch, the man used a pistol to kill his wife and then himself.
The couple’s two children are now in the care of social services and the wife’s family. Authorities are providing support to the children during this difficult time.
Police have concluded their technical investigations and forensic examinations at the residence. The area has been secured and examined by investigators, forensic teams, emergency services, and a dog patrol.
The North Zealand Police have declined to comment on the man’s possible motive for the murder. The investigation is ongoing.
