A man is in critical condition after a single-vehicle accident on Nørreskovvej on the island of Tåsinge near Valdemar’s Castle. Funen Police reported receiving notice of the accident Thursday evening.

The driver, for reasons yet unknown, left the road and collided with a tree. Photos from the scene show extensive front-end damage to a black car.

The man was reportedly unconscious when rescue crews arrived.

The road was temporarily closed for technical investigations following the accident but has since reopened to traffic.
