A 38-year-old man has been jailed for 14 days following a preliminary hearing in the Court of Kolding on Wednesday, suspected of abducting his two children and taking them to Chechnya. Police believe the children, aged eight and ten, were taken out of the country before August 22nd, depriving the children of their mother’s parental authority.

The preliminary hearing was held behind closed doors.

According to the charges, the man allegedly sent an email to his children’s Danish school stating that they would be attending school in Chechnya.
