A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 24-year-old woman whose body was discovered on Monday evening near Grenaa, Djursland.
The man was presented in court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing, where he was ordered to be held in custody for four weeks, until June 24th.
According to the East Jutland Police, this detention allows authorities the opportunity to conduct further investigations into the case.
The preliminary hearing was conducted behind closed doors, preventing the press from accessing details regarding the circumstances.
Prior to the hearing being closed to the public, the judge stated that the police need to interview additional witnesses and are currently searching the area for evidence.
The judge highlighted the severity of the crime and the early stage of the investigation as further justification for the closed hearing.
