Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and fostering good relationships are crucial for reducing chronic inflammation, a key factor in aging and age-related diseases. According to experts, lowering chronic inflammation is one of the most important things we can do to maintain a low biological age and avoid diseases.

Chronic inflammation is linked to an increased risk of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, dementia, and type 2 diabetes. It can damage cell DNA, disrupt growth signals, accumulate fats in blood vessels, damage nerve cells in the brain, and disrupt the body’s ability to respond to insulin.

Research suggests that chronic inflammation can serve as a benchmark for determining whether we are aging faster or slower than our actual age. Studies have shown a correlation between high levels of chronic inflammation and a higher biological age, age-related brain changes, and a faster decline in IQ.

Lifestyle factors significantly contribute to chronic inflammation. These include smoking, obesity (especially a BMI over 30), lack of exercise, an unhealthy diet, overconsumption of alcohol, high stress levels over a prolonged period, and a lack of social connections.
