Nearly 700 homing pigeons that went missing during a race from Southern Jutland to Northern Jutland on Saturday are gradually making their way back to their homes. This is according to Martin Hansen, chairman of the Homing Pigeon Association in Aalborg and the surrounding area.

The successful return of the pigeons is partially attributed to a surge in inquiries from citizens who have spotted the lost birds. The increase in reports has been significant, with people providing information on various birds, including many of the missing pigeons.

Hansen noted that they have also received reports of birds unrelated to the race, including a parakeet, which they were unable to assist with. Many pigeons returned home during Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Hansen stated that he personally responded to 50 messages on Facebook alone. He also highlighted an instance where 50 pigeons were collected in Southern Jutland by one individual, who still had approximately eight more.
