Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurants in Denmark have declared bankruptcy, according to information from the Danish Official Gazette. Isken Aps, the company holding the rights to operate KFC restaurants in Denmark, was placed under bankruptcy proceedings on July 18th.
The bankruptcy follows a Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) documentary in June that revealed employees were manipulating date markings on chicken meat.
Following the documentary, KFC’s European headquarters terminated its agreement with Isken Aps and demanded the restaurants’ closure.
