Skjern’s Jakob Rasmussen maintains hope that his team can overcome Aalborg and claim the Danish championship title, despite their recent loss in the first of a potential three-game final series. The match concluded with a 26-22 victory for Aalborg on Wednesday.
Rasmussen acknowledged the team’s struggle in the attack during the game. “We don’t have any rhythm in the attack today,” he stated, emphasizing the need for analysis and adjustments before their next encounter.
Despite the setback, Rasmussen expressed confidence in Skjern’s ability to bounce back. “We still believe that we can turn it around again,” he affirmed, drawing parallels to their semi-final experience against GOG, where they recovered from an initial loss to secure a spot in the final.
Aalborg’s victory was significantly influenced by the outstanding performance of their goalkeeper, Niklas Landin. Patrick Wiesmach, Rasmussen’s Aalborg teammate, praised Landin’s contribution. “It’s great to have Niklas behind us, because once we put pressure on them, he just snatches them,” Wiesmach commented, highlighting Landin’s crucial saves.
With this win, Aalborg needs only a draw in the upcoming match in Skjern on Saturday to secure the championship. However, a victory for Skjern would force a decisive third game in Aalborg, due to their higher ranking in the regular season.
