The number of doping cases intercepted by customs has risen for the fifth year in a row, according to the Ministry of Taxation. Last year alone, authorities prevented 1,833 attempts to smuggle doping substances into the country and seized over 205,000 pills and ampoules, along with 40 kilos of raw materials used in doping production.

In 2023, customs officials thwarted 1,375 smuggling attempts and confiscated 153,284 pills and ampoules.

Tax Minister Rasmus Stoklund expressed his concern about the increasing trend, stating that the high number of people whose bodies and lives are ruined by doping is alarming. He emphasized the urgent need to stop the influx of these substances into the country.
