The Danish housing market continues to show signs of improvement, with a significant increase in home buying activity reflected in the number of loan offers received in June. According to data from Finans Danmark, 6,172 loan offers related to home purchases were recorded, marking a 25 percent increase compared to June of the previous year.
Peter Jayaswal, Deputy Director of Mortgage Credit, Property Finance and Social Transition at Finans Danmark, stated that the interest in loan offers for home purchases is at its highest point since the onset of the inflation crisis.
The increase in activity is particularly noticeable in Copenhagen and East Jutland, with a general improvement observed across the entire country.
Lisette Rosenbeck, Senior Economist at Arbejdernes Landsbank, also highlighted the rise in loan offers and the active trading environment in the housing market. Home sales have increased by almost 20 percent in the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
The robust demand for home purchases is also influencing property prices. Data from Boligsiden indicates that house prices have risen by 5.5 percent in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year, while apartment prices have increased by 10.3 percent.
In total, 13,487 loan offers were received in June, including those for home purchases, loan restructuring, supplementary loans, and new construction.
