North Jutland is under a heatwave warning, issued by the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), valid until 9 p.m. Saturday.
The warning encompasses the municipalities of Aalborg, Jammerbugt, Brønderslev, Hjørring, and Frederikshavn. The heatwave classification is triggered when the average of the highest temperatures, measured over three consecutive days, surpasses 28 degrees Celsius in a particular location.
DMI reports that Saturday could mark the third consecutive day with temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius or higher in certain areas of North Jutland. Duty meteorologist Mette Wagner indicates that Sunday is also expected to bring temperatures exceeding 28 degrees Celsius.
A significant rain shower is anticipated to arrive on Monday, bringing cooler temperatures.
DMI also notes that a heat wave, defined as an average temperature exceeding 25 degrees Celsius, is currently affecting approximately 45 percent of Denmark.
