Swedish activist Greta Thunberg made a surprise appearance at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, shifting the focus from music to political activism. The incident occurred during a performance by Danish pop star MØ at the Arena stage.
Thunberg’s appearance involved raising a banner displaying pro-Palestinian and climate-related messages. Several individuals were invited onto the stage to participate in the demonstration.
Eyewitnesses noted that some of the individuals present on stage with Thunberg had also participated in a similar demonstration during a performance by the Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C. on the Orange Scene earlier in the week.
Sources present at the concert reported that Thunberg led chants of “free, free Palestine.” The entire episode reportedly lasted only a few minutes.
Attendees at the concert had mixed reactions. Some concert-goers cheered in support of the demonstration, while others chose to leave the area. One attendee described the atmosphere as “more subdued” compared to the earlier demonstration.
