A man in his early 20s has been arrested in connection with the May 2nd shooting in Søborg, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four. The Copenhagen West Police announced the arrest on X.
The suspect will appear in court for a preliminary hearing in Glostrup on Tuesday.
Previously, three other men, aged 26, 28, and 35, were taken into custody related to the shooting on Novembervej in the Mørkhøj area of Søborg. The incident involved a 35-year-old man who was shot while in his car with a 12-year-old girl. The girl was unharmed.
The three men already in custody are charged with murder for allegedly firing six shots at the victim with a revolver. The shooting occurred around 5:50 PM on May 2nd.
The 35-year-old victim was struck by three bullets, including one to the head, and later died at Rigshospitalet.
Deputy Police Inspector Charlotte Skovby described the murder as “extremely brutal and cynically carried out.”
The three previously arrested men have pleaded not guilty to the murder of the 35-year-old man and the attempted murder of the 12-year-old girl.
Following their remand, police suspected the involvement of additional individuals in the murder, leading to the recent arrest of a possible fourth accomplice.
The police have stated that they will not be releasing any further information at this time.
