Four Suspects Remanded in Custody in Aarhus Watch Robbery Case

Four men suspected of robbing a watch store in Aarhus, Denmark, and making off with watches valued at over five million kroner, have been remanded in custody until June 25. The decision came after a preliminary hearing held at the Court in Aarhus.

The prosecutor argued for their imprisonment based on a significant risk of flight and the potential for the accused to influence witnesses. The judge granted the request.

East Jutland Police, in collaboration with South and Southern Jutland Police, conducted the operation that led to the arrest of the four men on Wednesday evening.

Two of the arrested individuals are accused of carrying out the robbery at Kejser Aarhus store on May 23. They have not appealed the detention order. The owner of the store had a gun pressed against his neck and was tied up, along with an employee, in the back room.

The third suspect, believed to have attempted to sell 25 of the 62 stolen watches in Sønderborg, has appealed the detention order. The fourth suspect, charged with possession of the pistol used in the robbery, has also appealed his imprisonment.

During the court hearing, interpreters translated from Serbian, Dutch, and Montenegrin. The detainees are aged between 27 and 62 years.

Following the robbery, police made several appeals to the public for assistance. Citizens provided information that a wanted car with Swiss license plates was parked in a parking lot.
