Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the May 23rd robbery of a watch store in Aarhus, where watches worth approximately five million kroner were stolen. The arrests followed an intense investigation and were carried out on Wednesday evening by East Jutland Police, in collaboration with colleagues from South and Southern Jutland Police.
The suspects, aged between 27 and 62, were presented to a judge on Thursday at the Court in Aarhus. Two are accused of carrying out the robbery itself. A third is suspected of attempting to sell 25 of the 62 stolen watches in Sønderborg. The fourth is charged with possession of the pistol used during the crime.
The robbery occurred on the morning of May 23rd at the Kejser Aarhus store in Rosensgade. The owner of the store had a pistol pressed against his neck, and he and an employee were restrained with zip ties and placed in the back room.
Interpreters have been called in for the court hearing to translate from Serbian, Dutch, and Montenegrin. Some of the arrests took place in Aabenraa.
Following the robbery, police made several appeals to the public for assistance. Members of the public provided valuable information, including the location of a wanted car with Swiss license plates parked at a Lidl on Skejbyvej. Police Commissioner Jens Rønberg expressed gratitude for the public’s assistance in a press release.
