Four foreign men have been arrested in connection with the violent robbery of a watch store in Aarhus that took place last week. The East Jutland Police announced the arrests, which occurred on Wednesday evening.
Police Commissioner Jens Rønberg confirmed the arrests were made in cooperation with the South and Southern Jutland Police. The ages of the arrested men range from 27 to 62 years old. Police have not disclosed the nationality of the suspects, citing the ongoing investigation.
The robbery occurred on the morning of May 23 at Kejser Aarhus in Rosensgade, where two men stole watches valued at several million kroner. The owner and an employee were threatened and restrained; one victim reported having a pistol-like object pressed against his neck.
The robbers escaped by smashing a window and sought help at a neighboring shop, leaving blood at the scene. A Renault Clio with Swiss license plates was reportedly used in the escape, and the vehicle was later found in a parking lot by Lidl on Skejbyvej after a public appeal.
Authorities believe that two of the arrested men carried out the robbery, while the other two were accomplices. A judge in the Court in Aarhus will decide on Thursday afternoon whether the men will be remanded in custody. Police have not commented on whether the stolen watches have been recovered.
