Former Minister Henrik Sass Larsen Indicted on Child Abuse Material Possession Charges

Former Minister Henrik Sass Larsen is facing charges for allegedly possessing thousands of images and video sequences of child abuse material. The case is scheduled to be heard in Copenhagen City Court on August 21.

The indictment details the specific charges against Sass Larsen, encompassing a large quantity of images and videos across different categories of severity. He is accused of possessing approximately 2404 images and video sequences in category 1, 5638 in category 2, and around 450 in category 3.

The material is categorized based on the severity of the content. Category 1 includes images or videos of undressed children, such as those on a beach. Category 2 involves material depicting sexual touches between children or between children and adults. Category 3, the most serious, includes material involving coercion or violence.

The indictment states that the alleged possession initially occurred on July 5, 2023, at 6:30 PM, which could be the time when police searched his home and discovered the material. In addition, he is charged with possessing three images and 16 video sequences on an iPhone and a laptop on February 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

Sass Larsen is also charged with possessing a child doll designed for sexual purposes. The indictment describes the doll as being “cut open in the crotch and connected to an electronic control.”

Henrik Sass Larsen has pleaded not guilty to all charges. One court day has been allocated for the case.
