Former Social Democratic minister Henrik Sass Larsen has been charged with possessing extensive child abuse material and a child sex doll.

Sass Larsen stated that he downloaded the material after receiving a video clip in which he himself was sexually abused as a three-year-old, explaining he wanted to “find the culprits.”

Prior to the charges, on March 23, 2025, Aktive Ejere announced that Henrik Sass Larsen had resigned his position as director. He left the Folketing in 2019 to become CEO of the industry organization Aktive Ejere, after a period of sick leave and suffering from depression.

From 2013 to 2015, he was Minister for Business and Growth. He was a member of the Folketing (Parliament) for the Social Democrats from 2000 to 2019, and a temporary member of parliament in two different periods in 1999. During his time in parliament, he served as political spokesman and group chairman.

He became a member of the Social Democratic Youth of Denmark as a 16-year-old and was chairman of the youth party from 1992 to 1996. He studied a bachelor’s degree at Roskilde University in HA/management studies but did not complete the education.

Born on May 29, 1966, Henrik Martin Sass Larsen grew up in the public housing complex Taastrupgård in Høje-Taastrup. As a 12-year-old, he was forcibly removed and placed in a children’s home and later adopted.
