Robert Habeck, the former German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, is highly likely to join the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) as a researcher. According to DIIS director Peter Kragelund, the final agreement is almost complete.
Habeck, who previously studied in Denmark and speaks Danish fluently, is expected to take on the role of senior analyst at the institute. His primary focus will be on the significant shifts occurring in European defense and security policy.
Kragelund indicated that while the final details are being worked out, he is confident that Habeck will be joining DIIS.
The possibility of Habeck’s appointment at DIIS is supported by an official publication, the Bundesanzeiger.
It remains uncertain whether Habeck, 55, will relocate to Copenhagen, where the research institute is based.
