A 22-year-old man in Holbæk has become the first person in Denmark to be banned from residing in a specific area due to disruptive behavior. Midt- and Vestsjællands Politi announced the ban on Thursday, marking the first case nationwide since the amendment to the Police Act regarding residence bans took effect on July 1st.

The man is prohibited from residing within 500 meters of Havevang, near the Grønneparken housing estate, for 30 days. This administrative decision was made by the police after providing the 22-year-old with an opportunity to present his case.

The police district reports that the man is known for drug dealing and vandalizing surveillance cameras in Grønneparken. Authorities emphasized that the new residence ban, according to the law, is applicable only in areas with general safety concerns. He does not have a registered address in the restricted area.
