Finance Denmark Proposes Easing Loan Rules to Help Young People Enter the Housing Market Earlier

A proposal from Finance Denmark suggests changes to loan criteria to help more young people become homeowners. The plan focuses on assessing future earning potential in addition to current income and savings.

The proposal emphasizes a good saving history as a prerequisite for obtaining a bank loan. This adjustment could potentially allow more students to purchase homes.

However, Curt Liljegren from the Housing Economics Knowledge Center notes that these relaxed rules will primarily benefit young people with strong prospects for high income and stable employment. He indicates the changes would offer little advantage to those entering lower-skilled professions.

Electric cars have the potential to both power homes and feed energy back into the electricity grid using bidirectional charging, according to TV 2. This technology could create financial and environmental advantages.

Ilyas Dogru, a consumer economist at FDM, envisions a future where Danish electric car owners effectively receive “free” electricity by buying and selling power. He suggests that consumers would pay only for the transmission of electricity.

The technology is already in use in Frederiksberg, demonstrating profitability with earnings of approximately 6,000 kroner.
