Only six Danish riders are set to participate in this year’s Tour de France, a decrease compared to previous years.
The final team announcements have been made, confirming the Danish participants. Michael Valgren and Kasper Asgreen of EF Education-EasyPost have secured their spots, bringing the total number of Danes to six.
The confirmed Danish riders for the Tour de France, which starts on Saturday, are: Magnus Cort (Uno-X), Jonas Vingegaard (Visma), Tobias Lund Andresen (Picnic), Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek), Kasper Asgreen (EF), and Michael Valgren (EF).
Several notable Danish cyclists will be absent from the race this year. Mads Pedersen, former world champion, will not be participating, a decision announced earlier. Additionally, Søren Kragh Andersen, the current Danish champion, is also not on the participant list.
Other deselected Danish riders include Casper Pedersen (Quick-Step), Christopher Juul-Jensen (Jayco), and Mikkel Bjerg (UAE Emirates).
