FC Nordsjælland’s women’s team has secured a spot in the Champions League qualifiers for the second consecutive year after finishing second in the Gjensidige Kvindeliga (Women’s League).
The team clinched the silver medal on the final day of the season with a 0-0 draw against Fortuna Hjørring. This draw was enough to maintain their lead over HB Køge and Brøndby, who both won their respective matches.
Prior to the final matches, FC Nordsjælland held a three-point advantage over HB Køge and Brøndby. The team needed at least a point against Fortuna Hjørring to guarantee their place in the Champions League qualifiers. Fortuna Hjørring had already secured the league championship and a Champions League qualification spot more than a month prior.
HB Køge secured the bronze medals and will participate in the Europa Cup qualification. They defeated AGF 2-1 and finished the season with 38 points.
Brøndby also finished with 38 points after a 1-0 victory over OB, but missed out on the medals. They will not participate in European competitions next season.
