FC Nordsjælland has bolstered its midfield by acquiring 26-year-old Danish player Nicklas Røjkjær from Swedish top-tier team Mjällby. The Superliga club announced the signing on its official website.
Røjkjær’s move comes after a successful stint in Sweden, where he showcased his talent and significantly contributed to Mjällby’s performance. This season, he recorded 5 goals and 4 assists in 14 games, playing a key role in the team’s success in the Swedish league.
“FCN is a club that plays good football and has a style of play that suits me well. At the same time, it was also a club that showed that they really wanted me, so for me it is absolutely perfect to come here now,” Røjkjær said.
Prior to his time in Sweden, Røjkjær played for several Danish clubs, including FC Copenhagen, Silkeborg IF, and Viborg FF. He most recently played for FC Fredericia before moving to Sweden in 2024.
According to FC Nordsjælland’s director of football, Alexander Riget, Røjkjær has demonstrated significant growth, transitioning from a top player in the second-best Danish league to a prominent figure in Allsvenskan. He also added that they are happy to have closed an agreement with Nicklas in competition with other clubs.
The details of Røjkjær’s contract with FC Nordsjælland have not been disclosed by the club.
