FC Midtjylland finished second in the Superliga after a dramatic final day, despite securing a 3-2 victory against Randers FC. FC Copenhagen’s (FCK) decisive 3-0 win over FC Nordsjælland sealed the championship for them.

Experienced FCM goalkeeper Jonas Lössl expressed his disappointment, stating that the team had aimed for gold. He acknowledged FCK’s strong final performance and congratulated them on winning the championship.

Throughout the season, FC Midtjylland held the top spot for several periods. A draw in their match against FCK in the third-to-last round prevented them from gaining a decisive advantage in the gold race. Lössl noted that there were many matches where they wished they had earned more points, highlighting the importance of the draw in Copenhagen.

Last year, FC Midtjylland won the championship, but they were unable to defend their title this season.

As the second-place finisher, FCM is currently positioned to qualify for the Conference League next season. However, if FCK wins the cup final against Silkeborg on Thursday, FC Midtjylland will be upgraded to Europa League qualification.
