FC Fredericia has signed English goalkeeper Etienne Green from Burnley as a replacement for injured first-choice goalkeeper Ovie Ejeheri. The acquisition comes after Ejeheri sustained an injury just two games into the Superliga season.
Green’s move to the Danish club is a permanent deal. FC Fredericia director Stig Pedersen expressed pride in signing a player with experience from both the Premier League and Ligue 1, highlighting the significance of the signing for the club. He also noted that Green’s arrival completes the goalkeeper team, creating a competitive environment among the three goalkeepers.
While Green joined Burnley last year, he never played a game for the club. He brings experience from France’s Ligue 1, where he played 23 games for Saint-Etienne.
Ejeheri is currently on crutches, leaving FC Fredericia with young Mads Eriksen and Faroese national team player Mattias Lamhauge. Lamhauge has been the primary goalkeeper since Ejeheri’s injury.
