FC Copenhagen (FCK) coach Jacob Neestrup has responded to critics following the team’s Danish championship win. Neestrup emphasized the significant squad changes made last summer were crucial to the team’s success, fostering a new and hungry team dynamic.

Neestrup highlighted the skill and selflessness of the players as key factors in their victory. Despite facing challenges throughout the season, he said the players consistently prioritized the team over individual egos, contributing to their championship win.

The coach expressed his dismay at the criticism directed towards some of the team’s loaned players, asserting that they deserve recognition for their contributions. He specifically mentioned Diant Ramaj, Pantelis Hatzidiakos, Marcos Lopez, Giorgi Gocholeishvili, and Robert, noting their integration into the team.

Addressing personal criticism, Neestrup acknowledged the pressure that comes with his position, particularly at a club with high expectations. He pointed out the team’s achievements, including reaching the round of 16 in the Conference League and significant player sales, underscoring the demanding environment.

FC Copenhagen secured the championship with a 3-0 victory over FC Nordsjælland, finishing one point ahead of FC Midtjylland.
