A 21-year-old Danish citizen has been extradited from Denmark to Morocco on Wednesday evening in connection with multiple serious charges. Copenhagen Police confirmed that the individual is expected to appear before a judge on Thursday morning.
The charges against the 21-year-old are extensive and include three counts of attempted murder. In addition to attempted murder, the individual faces accusations of explosions, arson, and weapons possession across six separate incidents.
Authorities also suspect the man of recruiting and instructing individuals, including children, to engage in criminal activities within Denmark. Several of the charges against the 21-year-old fall under the “gang paragraph,” indicating that police believe the alleged offenses are linked to a conflict between two groups. Conviction under this paragraph can result in a doubled sentence.
Copenhagen Police reported that the man has been held in absentia since November 26 of the previous year. A preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place in Copenhagen City Court at 9:30 AM, with the prosecution seeking to hold the hearing behind closed doors.
While a closed-door hearing would restrict public access to evidence and the accused’s testimony, the indictment will be read aloud in open court. The defense attorney will also be able to state the suspect’s position on the charges.
